The Elephant Trees Ride and The Baileys Northern Championships 2013

Welcome to the North Pennines and

The Elephant Trees Ride

29th and 30th June 2013

Incorporating

 The Baileys Northern Championships

The Elephant Trees are a local landmark in lower Weardale, they are an old stand of Beech trees which from certain angles look just like, would you believe it ……...........elephants!

The routes for the ride begin and end in Hamsterley Forest and all distances offered from 32k and upwards include a stretch on the beautiful moorland surrounding Hamsterley Forest, including Eggleston, Bollihope, Hamsterley Common and Doctor’s Gate.  One of England’s most special places – a stunning landscape of open heather moors and peatlands, attractive dales and hay meadows, tumbling upland rivers and wonderful woods.

The 2013 ride will be offering an 80k CER, The Northern Championships, 80k GER, 65k GER, 40k GER’s, 32GER's, 32k, 25k and a 15k Pleasure Ride.

If you enjoy the challenge of a true ‘Endurance Ride’ with stunning scenery, a challenging route, friendly atmosphere and a beautiful venue then this is the ride for you.  Why not put it on your calendar for 2013 and enjoy riding the so called ‘backbone of England’, you won’t be disappointed.

We would like to thank the Landowners and the Forestry Commission who allow us to use their land.
